In an era where fashion often seeks to captivate with bold gestures and fireworks, Giambattista Valli’s latest collection offers a breath of serenity, a quiet rebellion against the chaos of modern times. “I’d rather offer a sense of comfort, a moment of elegance, and calm—that’s what fashion should bring,” Valli explained backstage before his much-anticipated show.
It is this philosophy of understated grace that permeated every aspect of his Fall/Winter collection, presented in the intimate salons of Hotel Pozzo di Borgo, the former Hôtel Particulier of the legendary Karl Lagerfeld.

Inspired by the late 1960s—an era defined by freedom, curiosity, and cultural exploration—Valli sought to create garments that were as fluid as the spirit of the time. His collection brought together a blend of sophisticated, elongated silhouettes with effortless, bohemian elegance, each piece flowing with ease and grace. There was a refined yet breezy atmosphere throughout, a sense of movement imbued into every dress, pant, and jacket. Valli’s signature whimsicality made its presence felt in subtle, unexpected details.
The collection juxtaposed opulent tailoring with relaxed boho chic. Bell-shaped palazzo pants paired with bias-cut tops showcased a masterful understanding of proportion and silhouette. Slim, tailored redingotes in tweed were layered over coordinating trousers, while voluminous wool coats—crafted to mimic the texture of fur—added a luxe edge to otherwise casual ensembles. The look was undeniably modern, yet it harked back to the charm of 1960s style: effortless, cool, and quietly glamorous.
The most captivating pieces in the collection were perhaps the long, flowing chiffon dresses which billowed gracefully with each movement. These garments, delicately embroidered with floral motifs, evoked a soft, romantic air, furthering the sense of ease that defined the show. Elsewhere, shorter dresses embroidered with Chantilly lace carried with them an undeniable hint of Parisian je ne sais quoi, adding a layer of timeless sophistication.

Among the standout moments were a draped, shimmering gold dress that captured the light in the most captivating way and a series of flowing evening gowns crafted in finely draped and pleated jersey. These gowns exemplified Valli’s commitment to couture craftsmanship, albeit with a lighter, more minimalist approach. His mastery of drapery and fit was clear, yet these pieces felt effortless, almost weightless—a reflection of the designer’s desire to offer his audience something beyond the ordinary.
As a couturier, Valli is never far from the intricate techniques that define haute couture, but in this collection, his touch was lighter, more harmonious, and supremely refined. With every piece, he managed to strike a delicate balance between luxury and simplicity, offering a kind of fashion that invites ease rather than demands attention.
